His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has ordered the immediate rehabilitation of electricity in Bekwarra Local Government Area (LGA).
Intensive work towards the restoration of power, which commenced about two weeks ago, has progressed steadily with the replacement of several poles, cables, and other accessories that were previously vandalized.
Transformers for the illumination of the Anyikang to Gakem axis in Bekwarra LGA also arrived today.
Indeed, “Governor Otu is working.”
When contacted, the Ada Bekwarra II stated that all these efforts are courtesy of His Excellency, the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and the hardworking Director-General of the State Electrification Agency, Mr. Francis Odachi Ekpo.
Also, His Royal Majesty, the Paramount Ruler of Bekwarra LGA, Ushie Ebeshe Ka'kpa II, expressed joy and urged everyone to reciprocate this show of love by the Governor.
He further stated that they are still advising and appealing to the teeming youths, elders, chiefs, and others in Bekwarra to take responsibility for all government infrastructure in their communities.
He noted that this was part of the resolutions reached at the Town Hall Meeting recently held at the Council Hall, at the instance of Hon. Signor Omang Idiege (Ada Bekwarra II).
