*Ada Bekwarra II Congratulates Governor Otu on Two Years of Transformational Leadership*

 




Ada Bekwarra II, Hon. Signor Omang Idiege has extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, as he marks two years in office.


In a message, Hon. Idiege praised the Governor’s people-centered leadership style and highlighted the remarkable progress made across key sectors within the short span of two years.


According to Ada Bekwarra II, the Governor's achievements have touched the lives of ordinary citizens, particularly in the areas of agriculture, tourism, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and rural development.


He noted that the administration’s support for farmers, including the distribution of inputs and improved extension services, has revitalized agricultural productivity in all 18 local government areas. He also commended the revival of tourism sites such as the Marina Resort and the Obudu Ranch, which have not only boosted local businesses but placed Cross River back on the global tourism map.


Speaking further, Hon. Idiege described the Governor’s education policy as a bold and life-changing step for many families in the state. “Registering thousands of students for WAEC and upgrading schools of nursing to full-fledged colleges shows your commitment to the future of our children,” he said.


The Ada Bekwarra II equally acknowledged the improvements in the health sector, including the recruitment of health workers, construction of new hospitals, and efforts to ensure the availability of essential medicines across the state.


He also used the opportunity to express deep gratitude to Governor Otu for the ongoing electrification rehabilitation project in Bekwarra. According to him, this intervention is a long-awaited answer to the cries of a people who have been in darkness for more than a decade. He noted that the restoration of electricity will not only boost economic activity in the area but also bring relief and renewed hope to households and small businesses.


He lauded the state government’s investment in road construction, water supply, and the development of rural and border communities, describing them as visible signs of a government that works for all.


"Governor Otu has shown what true leadership means—meeting the people where they are and lifting them higher. We see the change, we feel the impact, and we are grateful," the statement read.
