Northern Senatorial District Leadership for Growth and Development Tour Reaches Ogoja LGA

 



The Cross River State Northern Senatorial District Leadership for Growth and Development Tour on Wednesday arrived in Ogoja Local Government Area, as part of its ongoing maiden tour across the district.


The Chairman of the Forum, Chief Tony Undiandeye, upon arrival, met with traditional rulers, chiefs, elders, and other stakeholders in the area. He briefed the gathering on key issues affecting the Northern Senatorial District and underscored the importance of mobilizing broad-based support ahead of the 2027 general elections.


Welcoming the delegation, the Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Area, Hon. Chris, described Ogoja as a local government with a rich cultural heritage. He noted that the visit would help in identifying priority areas for growth and development and commended ongoing efforts aimed at transforming the area.


During the interaction, community members raised concerns and made recommendations, particularly calling for the construction of more access roads, especially in rural communities, and the creation of greater opportunities for youths in Ogoja Local Government Area.


Also speaking at the event, Chief Dr. Peter Ojie emphasized the need for sustained growth and development in Ogoja and Cross River State, noting that meaningful progress requires collective responsibility. He commended the development initiatives of the state government under the leadership of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.


The event was attended by council chairmen and vice chairmen from across the Northern Senatorial District, as well as party chapter chairmen, reflecting a united front among leaders in the district.
