As regards 2023 in Cross River State for those saying that since the Northern part of Cross River State has produced a Governor in Sen Prof Ayade Benedict and Sen Liyel Imoke who handed to Ayade is from the Central and Mr Donald Duke who handed over to Liyel is from the south that then means that the office of the Govenor can be contested for by any of the zones aren't fair.
Though the rotational factor isn't legal or offical per se but it is binding unofficially and all things been equal the Southern Senatorial District should be given the said mandate.This does not mean that competence and exposure as well as experience should or would be sacrificed on the alter of zoning. As seen recently Sen John Owan Enoh who was from the central contested against Ayade in his second term and is still battling for cancellation of the recent elections at the tribunal.
The said zoning formular doesn't in any way prevents anyone from any of the zones from contesting but it is almost impossible for someone outside the south of Cross River State to win and the facts are as obvious as the said enshrined political tradition.Thesame force we pulled in the North to ensure massive votes for our son Sen Ayade is thesame way the south would come all out to ensure they utilize the strengths of their numbers interms of LGA and voter's strength to do the needful.
Those who think because it is their turn today and they can do whatever they like and every other person can go to hell should remember their groans for equity, fairness and equality when the odds stood against them.Those who rode on goodwill and compassion should be compassionate too while wielding it.Power is sweet but it is slippery and is as transient as vapour exposed to intense heat.
Those of us who stood all out and still stand all out for our brother and our region will in the spirit of what is just do thesame for the interest of state when the time is ripe.We will not only advocate for a replacement from the south but will pray, fast, work and massively mobilize humans and resources to ensure that one of our own(The one who in the fear of God would lead and who would not forget our toils, the one who will irrespective of our regions and LGAs ensure that we are truly carried along, the one who will follow up the blue print of industrialization and yet meet those basic needs of our state and truly evolve new leadership while accepting the mentorship of those before us).
For those who may not know the consciousness is growing and awareness with each passing elections becomes deeper
and the expectations too.So you see this is 2019 and whether the major actors or actress likes it or yes the politics and intrigues of who serves after Governor Ayade has began.We have less than 3 years to the said conclusion.
After this 3years it will be 16 years after Liyel and 24years after Donald.Donald failed in his plots to ensure Liyel's emergence and Liyel had and played roles for Ayade's emergence.Will Governor Ayade play critical roles in the emergence of his successor or will Liyel and or Wike play roles from the back?The months ahead will tell but I see Governor Ayade finishing strong and building his own men for the future Cross River State project except otherwise.Whatever it is God's will will be done but God speaks through men.Time runs....for now let us give maximum support for the success of the current administration and lay low on heating our polity.It is time for governance!! There's so much to be done!!
