Very Rev Fr Malachy Ephraim, yesterday was your birthday. I tried to call you to sing you a birthday song but as usual your schedule didnt permit you to take my calls and after several trial you sent me a text stating the fact that you were busy and I sent you this text: ''Called in to sing you a happy birthday song.I wish you God's blessings today&always Padre. Padre you have made many sacrifices&I am one of your product.I strongly believe that soober than later we will be priviledge to appreciate you&tell the world how valuable you are to humanity.Thank you for all."
You see all through your sojourn on earth you have become so many things to different persons, to some you are called a social priest due to your interaction with all kinds of people and social interactions , to another a political priest due to your built link of utilizing same to pursue development of projects within the church, yet to others you are a spiritually conscious catholic priest from your sermon rich in the liturgy of the word and mixture of fire brand of our Pentecostal brothers and sisters.
You are not fake, you are true in every sense of the word, in action and words.You do not make promises you cant keep and you are a foundation and light to many of different background. You are vocal and a true ally to your friends. Now to me you saw a light beyond ethnicity and broke the role to place competency and passion beyond sentiments. You gave me my first major leadership role as the Senior Prefect of the prestigious St Patrick's College,Calabar. A role that further molded me to who I am today and laid the basics for my pursuit in leadership in my university days as a student unionist and after then you even gave me cash to pay for my National Youth Council of Nigeria, CRS Chapter elective office as Secretary Northern Senatorial District, a position I won and served gallantly in.I wont forget your support too to my entrepreneurial drive Fr. how can I thank you enough?
For the over 20 years I have known and kept relationship with you I have learnt how to speak out, how to be dextrous, how to be passionate, you have always given me an open door and listening ears anytime, any day.You have praised me where necessary and adviced where needed to.I am proud to have been mentored by you and the story of my life can not be complete without you Padre. Padre on behlaf of all those youths, and lives you have touched, schools built, youths mentored and souls saved, shelter provided and outreach made.
I SAY THANK YOU AND HOPE FOR THE HEAVEN'S CONTINUOUS GUIDANCE AND PROVISION ON YOU. See ehn me will pay back oh...your every kindness and gesture not just to yo but everyone who has stood by me.
