The Wife of the Governor of Cross River State Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Ayade in her magnanimity has donated cash and gift items worth several hundred of thousands to support the general overseer of Christ for the World Mission, Rev. Dr. Nick Eze who was celebrating his birthday with the widows from the eighteen local government area of Cross River State.
The yearly event which took place at the premises of Cross River State Ministry of Women Affairs Conference Hall was organised by the celebrant to give succour to the widows, who according to him are passing through untold hardship.
Lending her voice, Dr. Linda Ayade thanked Rev. Nick Eze for sustaining the gesture of feeding selected widows yearly for the past 12 years, and said it could only have come from the heart of a real man of God. Congratulating the man of God, Dr. Linda prayed for God’s blessing and also encouraged the widows not to see their status as the end of life but to realize that succour will always come their way.
Rev. Eze in his remarks said the reason for celebrating with the widows was because he had a firsthand experience as a child having lost his father at a tender age and his mother had to cater for all of them. As a result he made a vow to always help widows and the motherless to best of his ability.
Highlight of the event included distribution of the gift items, cutting of the birthday cake and group photographs.
