It was an exciting May 1st in Cross River State as workers in the state woke up to see bank credit alerts on their phones. It is a tradition of the current administration under the leadership of Governor Ben Ayade for May Salaries to be paid on the first of May every year to commemorate workers day.
Many doubted if this laudable practice will be sustainable considering the low federal allocation that comes into the state. But to the amazement of workers in the state, May salaries were paid on the first of May, few months after Governor Ayade won his reelection and last month of his first tenure as Governor of Cross River State.
Workers in the state expressed delight over this kind gesture and expressed their commitment to work for the success of the administration
